Non-oncologic Vascular Interventions
نویسنده
چکیده
Key Points •Several common and uncommon diseases in veterinary medicine are now able to be treated with the use of minimally invasive fluoroscopically-guided techniques. •The non-oncologic vascular interventions, while lacking in long-term data, are demonstrating early promise and the morbidity associated with these procedures tends to be significantly less than historical surgical treatment options.

Incidence and clinical features of the incidentally found vascular stump thrombus during routine follow up after oncologic lung surgery
OBJECTIVES We aimed to evaluate the incidence and clinical features of vascular stump thrombus after oncologic lung surgery. METHODS A retrospective analysis of records from our institutional database dated between 2009 and 2016 was performed. Data regarding demographics, clinical presentation, medication use, operative findings, pathology, and radiologic findings were retrieved. RESULTS Th...
متن کاملSimulation training for vascular access interventions.
Training and learning in the field of access for dialysis, including peritoneal and hemodialysis and access for oncologic patients, is well suited for the use of simulators, simulated case learning, and root cause analysis of adverse outcomes and team training. Simulators range over a wide spectrum from simple suture learning devices, inexpensive systems for venous puncture simulation, such as ...
متن کاملPrimitive retroperitoneal tumors. Vascular involvement--a major prognostic factor.
Primitive retroperitoneal tumors, although very rare, arouse an increased interest, because of the poor prognosis, unsatisfactory surgical and complementary therapy results. Up to now, the very low number of cases has impeded the acquisition of a unitary view of these tumors, a unanimously accepted algorithm of diagnostic and treatment being absent. Randomized trials regarding the effects of di...
متن کاملIntegrated Palliative Care and Oncologic Care in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer
OPINION STATEMENT Palliative care integrated into standard medical oncologic care will transform the way we approach and practice oncologic care. Integration of appropriate components of palliative care into oncologic treatment using a pathway-based approach will be described in this review. Care pathways build on disease status (early, locally advanced, advanced) as well as patient and family ...
متن کامل[Thoracic vascular disease in oncologic patients].
Patients with oncologic disease require frequent imaging tests (predominantly computed tomography) for follow-up. These patients may have thoracic vascular disease that can influence the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of their cancer. Primary vascular tumors can involve the thoracic vessels, like the pulmonary arteries (pulmonary artery sarcoma), and the neoplastic disease can extend local...
